Thinking about becoming Catholic? We would love to talk with you.
There are many reasons for considering becoming Catholic. Perhaps you have a desire for your family to be united in faith? Perhaps you want to be part of a community of people worshipping God together? Maybe you are seeking greater meaning and purpose in your life? Some people may be ready to seek answers to their questions about God, about Jesus Christ, and about the Church. Maybe you have always thought about being baptized but that just never happened, for one reason or another. Possibly you have been baptized but would like to be confirmed and to receive Holy Communion. For these reasons, and others that are unique to you, this may be be the perfect time for you to consider RCIA (The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).
Not Baptized?
If you wish to celebrate Baptism in the Catholic Church, we invite you to participate in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). This is the Catholic Church’s official process for those seeking Baptism.
For those seeking Baptism, these are the phases of RCIA, which in general (but not always), take place over the course of a typical school year:
1. Inquiry: A period of time to discuss basic questions of faith, about who is Jesus, and about the Church.
2. Catechumenate: A time and process of deeper learning about the faith and growing in relationship to Jesus Christ and his Church.
3. Purification & Enlightenment: A final period of preparation for the initiation sacraments at Easter, coinciding with the period the Church calls Lent.
4. Mystagogy (After Easter): A closer look in how to live the Christian life, with support from our parish community. The journey of discipleship continues throughout one's lifetime.
Already Baptized?
Perhaps you are already baptized in another faith tradition, but wish to enter full communion with the Catholic Church. We invite you to join us in the RCIA journey so that you can learn about the rich teachings and traditions of Catholicism.
If you have been baptized Catholic but have not received the Sacraments of Eucharist and/or Confirmation, this process would deepen your understanding as an adult and is highly recommended.
